Here comes the Bridesmaid… part duex!

Hooray for Friday!!! Perhaps you have a weekend shopping trip planned with your bridesmaids so today we are focusing on the business of making them look gorgeous on your big day.

Where to start???  Over the past few years high street shops such as Coast and Karen Millen have helped to bring fashionable bridesmaid/evening dresses to the masses and are a good place to start your search.  Amsale, stocked in The White Room is Mullingar has a really great selection as does Dresscode, based in Hickeys of Henry Street in Dublin.  Watters, WTOO and the Dessy group also have great offerings both in terms of style and colour and are stocked in various Bridal rooms around the country.

Primary colours and pastels are still the most popular choices for bridesmaid dresses however pattern and stripes while a little less orthodox, can also be a gorgeous alternative.  Ted Baker has some very pretty floral maxis which would look beautiful with plain coloured bouquets for a spring or summer wedding.

Shopping with your maids for their dresses should be fun but it can be stressful if you have many bridesmaids as the chances of finding one dress that will suit all can be pretty slim.  While traditionally all bridesmaids wore the exactly the same dress and this is still a very popular choice, increasingly there is a trend towards mix and match dresses.

Dressing your ladies in different styles of the same dress is a great way to ensure that all of your maids feel comfortable and are wearing a style that best suits their shape.  The Twobirds range of Bridesmaid dresses, available at The Bridal Lounge in Dublin, not only have a huge range of colours on offer but offer amazing flexibility by allowing you to choose one dress which has 15 different tying options from halter neck, strapless, one shoulder to sweetheart and cap-sleeved dresses.

If you have a particular style in mind but finding a colour tone to suit all is proving difficult why not choose complementary tones or shades of the same style dress to fit into your wedding colour scheme.

Or for ultimate flexibility just pick a colour palette and allow your ladies to choose their own style and shade.
